The analog sequencer in iMS-20 allows for precise control over notes, volume, pan, parameters, and voltages via knobs. It offers configurable steps and sequence modes, as well as trigger output options. The drum machine section of the app includes six parts and 16 steps per part, allowing users to create their own drum patterns by sampling a single note from the built-in MS-20 synthesizer. Each drum part can be controlled individually for notes, volume, and pan.

With the seven-channel mixer, users have the flexibility to blend and shape their sounds with ease. The mixer includes a double needle meter to indicate VU level and offers a master effect section with 14 different effect types to choose from.

To assist with composition, iMS-20 provides a comprehensive song/pattern composer. Users can create songs with up to 16 patterns and 256 bars per song. The app also includes tempo settings and a Swing function for added musical expression.

In terms of controls, iMS-20 offers a variable width keyboard with options for 22, 26, or 29 keys, as well as two Kaoss Pads for performance and parameter control. The performance pad allows users to easily set key/scale settings from a choice of 31 different types.

Other notable features of iMS-20 include an audio export function for bouncing songs or patterns in a high-quality stereo WAV format, the ability to publish and share songs directly to SoundCloud, and various template patterns and sounds organized by music genre and sound category.
