<i>iMS-20</i> is a comprehensive music production app for iPad that offers a range of features for creating professional-quality music. The centerpiece of the app is a faithful recreation of the iconic Korg MS-20 analog synthesizer, complete with patching capability. In addition to the synthesizer, iMS-20 includes a 16-step analog sequencer based on the Korg SQ-10, a versatile six-part drum machine, and a seven-channel mixer with 14 different types of effects.

One of the standout features of iMS-20 is the inclusion of dual Kaoss Pads, which allow users to generate music by simply stroking and moving their fingers across the pads. This intuitive interface opens up endless possibilities for creating unique and compelling musical phrases.

The app also provides access to the popular SoundCloud audio platform, allowing users to easily share their compositions online and collaborate with musicians from around the world. With iMS-20, you can bring your musical ideas to life and connect with a global community of music enthusiasts.

In terms of specifications, iMS-20 includes various components such as the MS-20 monophonic synthesizer, an analog sequencer, a six-part drum machine, a mixer, and a song/pattern composer. The synthesizer itself features advanced analog modeling technology and offers two voltage-controlled oscillators (VCO), two voltage-controlled filters (VCF), one voltage-controlled amplifier (VCA), two envelope generators (EG), and a patch panel for further sound manipulation. The app also provides 14 different types of effects that can be used to enhance your compositions.

The analog sequencer in iMS-20 allows for precise control over notes, volume, pan, parameters, and voltages via knobs. It offers configurable steps and sequence modes, as well as trigger output options. The drum machine section of the app includes six parts and 16 steps per part, allowing users to create their own drum patterns by sampling a single note from the built-in MS-20 synthesizer. Each drum part can be controlled individually for notes, volume, and pan.

With the seven-channel mixer, users have the flexibility to blend and shape their sounds with ease. The mixer includes a double needle meter to indicate VU level and offers a master effect section with 14 different effect types to choose from.

To assist with composition, iMS-20 provides a comprehensive song/pattern composer. Users can create songs with up to 16 patterns and 256 bars per song. The app also includes tempo settings and a Swing function for added musical expression.

In terms of controls, iMS-20 offers a variable width keyboard with options for 22, 26, or 29 keys, as well as two Kaoss Pads for performance and parameter control. The performance pad allows users to easily set key/scale settings from a choice of 31 different types.

Other notable features of iMS-20 include an audio export function for bouncing songs or patterns in a high-quality stereo WAV format, the ability to publish and share songs directly to SoundCloud, and various template patterns and sounds organized by music genre and sound category.
